When you are ready to take time away from your screen, consider making your home into a personal hotel, and treat yourself like a VIP guest

We’ve crossed the threshold of “self-quarantine” and all its shock value. Now, as the weather gets warmer, and many of our cities are beginning to slowly open up, we’re keeping our sights set on how to cultivate peace, safety and calm within the four walls of our homes. With an unpredictable future, creating a sacred home space is crucial in supporting our health and wellbeing, our relationships, and our outlook.

No matter where you choose to rest your head, or spend your free time, creating a space that nourishes and inspires you is one of the best ways to support cognitive, social, and emotional health. All details, from the lighting we choose, the colors of our walls and apartment decor, the utilization of plants as therapy, and as air purification tools, are all instrumental in helping you align your home life with your best life.

Research has shown that the determinants of chronic disease are less than 15% genetic and more than 85% environmental and behavioral. Which means, our physical, mental and emotional ailments are impacted by our surrounding environment. Investing in your home, both as a happy place, and a workspace, can improve your quality of sleep, relationships, mood, and outlook on life.

Unsuspecting industries are catching on to this research as well. Take the hospitality industry for example. One of the 8 leading wellness trends in 2020, is wellness tourism.  Wellness retreats, digital detoxes, silent meditation experiences, are all on the rise, and it’s because the demand for an integrated wellness lifestyle is only increasing. By 2030, the World Health Organization predicts that mental depression will be the world’s most prevalent health issue. Hotels are evolving their spaces, offerings, and services to cater to the wellbeing of their travelers.
